Demon Weave

In ancient times when Mystra was still recovering from their downfall, Lolth took advantage of her absence. She used her Drow to create a new, parasitic Weave that both coexists with and drains the Weave. Later this Demon Weave was used to jumpstart and revitalize the Weave and the two are now inseparable. Every few centuries Lolth will choose a Drow with immense potential to be entrusted with the secrets of working the Demon Weave. They become Dark Weavers that use the warped and chaos ridden Demon Weave to corrupt and bring madness (Drow Only).

Spellcasting: Spells cast by one Weaving the Demon Weave are changed fundamentally. All of your spells are changed in some way. For instance, Mage Hand becomes a sinewy Drow hand or spider’s leg.

Demon Madness

Using the Demon Weave is an act of insanity that pushes one’s mind to the brink. You gain one permanent, indefinite level of Madness that can only be undone by Lolth herself.

Chaos Weaving

Working with the Demon Weave can cause a multitude of effects as it is worked with. You can use your Weaving feature to use the following effects:

Twin Holes in the Demon Weave: As an action, you pick apart two holes in the Demon Weave and interconnect them. You choose two points within 90 ft of each other and link them with each becoming a black portal ripped into the fabric of the world. Until the end of your next turn creatures of your choice can use 10 ft of movement to enter one of the portals and exit on the other side.

Web of Demon Weave: As an action, you cut a portion of the Demon Weave and craft a set of arcane armor that crisscrosses you like a web. You gain temporary hit points equal to your Arcanist level and while you have those temporary hit points you have advantage on saving throws from spells of the same level you can cast.

Linking Threads of the Demon Weave: As an action, you can take threads from the Demon Weave and connect them to yourself and up to 6 targets within 10 ft of you. Each creature connected this way can speak telepathically as long as they are within 60 ft of each other.

Chaos Surge

The Demon Weave is a chaotic shadow of the Weave and meddling with it can cause ripples that cause Chaos Surges. When you use your Chaos Weaving feature roll 1D20 and on a 1 you roll on the Chaos Surge table.

Lv 5

Corruption

The magic of the Demon Weave corrupts your magic. All damaging spells you cast deal Necrotic, Poison, or Psychic damage (Your choice each time you cast a spell).

Lv 7

Immunity

The Demon Weave changes your body. You become Immune to Disease and either Acid, Necrotic, or Poison damage. You have advantage on saving throws against being Poisoned.

Lv 9

Distort Spells

The Demon Weave tends to distort spells due to its chaotic nature. Each time you or a creature casts a spell within 60 ft of you roll 1D6, on a 6 the spell is changed to another spell as chosen by the DM (Always random). The spell must be of the same level and School but the caster chooses the targets for the spell and the area it affects.

Lv 11

Shapechanger

The magic of Lolth and the Demon Weave makes you malleable like the Demon Weave. Once per long rest you can cast the spell Polymorph without expending a spell slot. The spell cast this way can change you into a Drow House Captain, Phase Spider, or Spider.

Lv 13

Extend Senses

You can extend your senses along the Demon Weave to gain information as if you follow a thread of sensation. You can spend 10 minutes in meditation to choose a location within 1 mile of you that is in contact with the Demon Weave and you can observe and see things there as if you were there. You cannot change the location once chosen or interact with objects or speak while your senses are extended.

You can use this feature a number of times per long rest equal to your DEX modifier (Minimum 1).

Lv 15

Chaos Summons

As an action you can use your Weaving feature as an action to draw upon many creatures with a connection to the Demon Weave and Lolth and call them to you. The creatures obey your commands and are friendly to you and your allies for the first minute they are summoned and then act as they normally would, usually attacking the nearest creature or running away. You can spend a bonus action dismissing any creature(s) summoned this way. When you use this feature roll 1D6 to determine the summon and they appear in an unoccupied location of your choice within 15 ft of you.

1D6 Effect
1Phase Spider
21D4 Swarms of Spiders
31D4 Giant Wolf Spiders
41D4 Giant Spiders
5Drider
6Draegloth
Lv 17

Distort Spell Mastery

You gain a modicum of control over the chaotic nature of the Demon Weave. Once per long or short rest when a 1st level spell or higher is cast within 120 ft of you, you can use a reaction and choose to make the spell be affected as if by your Distort Spell feature. A spell Warped this way will always be beneficial if used on an ally and harmful if used on an enemy.
