Terms & Conditions

Last updated: July 27, 2026

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Brew Shop (“Brew Shop,” “we,” “us,” or the “Service”), operated at phbz.org. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements.

2. Accounts

You sign in using a Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of that account and for all activity that occurs under your Brew Shop account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.

3. The Service

Brew Shop provides Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition homebrew reference content and a set of custom software tools, including a character builder and sheet, a campaign manager, story tools, a combat tracker, and related Dungeon Master features.

All game reference content is free to view. Optional paid subscriptions unlock additional capacity and features in our custom-built tools only. No game reference content is ever placed behind a paywall.

4. Free Tier and Usage Limits

Without a paid subscription, your account may use the tools up to the following limits:

  • Up to 2 saved characters.
  • Up to 1 campaign and 1 story (for approved Dungeon Masters).
  • Core campaign features, excluding the paid Dungeon Master tools listed in your plan.

We may adjust these limits over time. Any change will apply going forward and will not delete content you have already created.

5. Subscriptions and Billing

  • Plans and pricing. Paid plans and their prices are shown on our Plans page. Subscriptions are billed on a recurring monthly basis.
  • Payment. Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us, through Stripe, to charge your payment method the applicable recurring fee until you cancel.
  • Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.
  • Cancellation. You may cancel at any time through the billing portal linked in your account. Cancellation stops future charges; you keep access to paid features until the end of the current paid period.
  • Price changes. We may change subscription prices. We will give reasonable advance notice, and changes will take effect on your next billing period after the notice.
  • Refunds. Payments are generally non-refundable except where required by law. Because you can cancel at any time to prevent future charges, we do not provide prorated refunds for partial billing periods.
  • Taxes. Prices may be exclusive of applicable taxes, which will be added where required.

6. What Happens If a Subscription Ends

If your subscription ends (by cancellation or failed payment) or if you otherwise exceed a free-tier limit, we do not delete your content. Instead, content beyond the free limits becomes read-only:

  • Your existing characters, campaigns, and stories remain viewable.
  • Content over the free limit becomes view-only. You choose which items (up to the free limit) remain editable; the rest stay locked until you free up space or resubscribe.
  • Resubscribing restores full editing access to your content.

7. Your Content

You retain ownership of the original content you create with the tools (your characters, campaigns, stories, homebrew, and messages). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, and display that content solely to operate and provide the Service to you and the people you share it with.

You are responsible for the content you create and share, and you represent that you have the right to use it and that it does not infringe others’ rights or violate these Terms.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
  • Upload or share content that is illegal, infringing, harassing, hateful, or harmful.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems.
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or place undue load on the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Circumvent, or attempt to circumvent, subscription limits, gating, or security measures.
  • Scrape, resell, or commercially redistribute the Service or its tools without permission.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service’s software, design, and original homebrew content are owned by Brew Shop and its creators. Reference material derived from the System Reference Document (SRD 5.1 and SRD 5.2) is used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License; see our Licensing & Legal page for the required attribution.

Brew Shop is an unofficial, fan-made project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed, sponsored, or approved by Wizards of the Coast LLC. Dungeons & Dragons, D&D, and related marks are trademarks of Wizards of the Coast LLC.

10. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third parties, including Google (sign-in and infrastructure) and Stripe (payments). Your use of those features is also subject to their terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that your content will never be lost. You are responsible for keeping your own copies of anything important.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Brew Shop and its creators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or ten U.S. dollars (US$10).

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Brew Shop and its creators from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising out of your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or the rights of others.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and request account deletion. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the operator of Brew Shop resides, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located there for any dispute not subject to informal resolution.
