Hornung’s Guess

This spell was developed by Wildmage, Hornung the Anarch for the use of generals on the battlefield. You send your magic senses out and gain an accurate estimation of the number of people or objects you select in the spell’s range that you can see. The number is accurate to the ten’s place; for instance, a group of 27 calvarymen would be reported as 30 individuals.

The spell only counts physical people or objects that are in your line of sight therefore; if in a group of 97 soldiers 50 if of them were illusions, the spell would count 50 soldiers. The spell would provide the same count if instead 50 of the soldiers were in range but behind a hill or in a fortress.
