Where did the varied races of the material plane start? Five groups of powerful, primordial races gave rise to a stunning variety of races as time passed on the mortal plane and now precious few of these progenitors remain in their pure form.
The Five Origins
The Aaeree, Ancient Humans, Batrachi, Fey, and Sarrukh ruled from the foundation of the material plane’s conception. Their descendents make up the bulk of the natural races that cover the land. While other races were present at the time, no others could compete with the impact of their descendants or the power of the empires they forged.
Experimentation and Evolution
The five Creator Races evolved into a massive variety of other races and their experimentation with the vast power and resources at their disposal allowed them to create even more races in their image to serve them. In this primordial landscape there were no true competitors to slow the expansion of these races and their arcane and medical experimentation to further their goals.
The Greatest of Civilizations
The Creators wielded power that will never be seen again by mortal races. They tamed monsters and crafted cities of steel and glass and used magic that is no longer possible as constrained by newer gods. Since this period of grandeur there has never been anything that could even be compared even at the heights of the Netherize, Giants, or Dragons.
