Kobold

Crafty and small, these nimble dragon-like creatures survive by showing weakness. They present an outward cowardly and weak appearance to bely their massive racial strength. They have a deep connection with dragons that manifests itself in unexpected ways. They act as a swarming unit that can accomplish what no other species can dream of both in war and mining.

Small Individual, Mighty Whole

Kobolds are between 2 and 3 feet tall and weigh between 25 and 35 pounds and try to appear smaller, by hunching over and pretending to be frightful of large folk. Every Kobold is raised by the community as they start life in a communal hatchery. They have no concept of romance and breed based on the needs of their home. They have no sense of individuality and place all their worth on the state of their community. Kobolds can slowly change their sex based on population needs.

They are a content race, suited for hard labor as they work towards a future for their race. They are hygienic due to their underground and close confines. They view hard work as a form of worship. They begin each day with a meditation that is wholly dedicated to appreciating their Kobold lifestyle.

Singular Faith

Kobolds have a singular deity named Kurtulmak, who taught them how to survive and reincarnates their fallen. He is deeply involved with Kobolds everyday life. It is common for an avatar of his to appear at great religious events and to powerful priests. The devotion of the entire race exclusively makes Kurtulmak a powerful deity.

They are forever distrustful of Gnomes as their god Glittergold trapped Kurtulmak for a time. As such they hate pranks and tricksters as well as Illusions.

Miners and Trap Makers

A deep love of invention and traps permeates the entire race as a mark from their god. They will serve crafty Chromatic Dragons who enable them to be protected and carry out schemes from their shadow. They are some of the most talented wealth seekers on the Material Plane and live in sprawling underground cities. As such they prefer small weapons that are suited for cramped spaces. Wealth is distributed nearly perfectly since they live as a unit and the average Kobold is used to a large amount of wealth.
