Killoren
New and rare Fey that respect many aspects of nature. They are not well understood and at times it seems even they themselves are in a pursuit to understand their nature as well. As seasons change they adapt more and more to protect their beloved homes and the nature they are a part of.
Aspects of Nature
Killoren have the ability to manifest one of three aspects of nature: the Ancient, the Destroyer, or the Hunter. They can change their aspect daily if they choose. When manifesting the aspect of the Ancient, a Killoren gains knowledge of the natural world. The aspect of the Destroyer allows a Killoren to do more damage to an opponent. The aspect of the Hunter sharpens a Killoren's senses. Their appearance and temperament is also linked to which aspect they are manifesting. An Ancient may be more melancholy, a Destroyer may be more vindictive and protective, and a Hunter more feral and watchful.
The New Fey
Killoren are a recent and rare race of Fey. They have been around for less than 1,500 years and they have no kingdoms of their own and live in scattered settlements. Killoren can live in nearly any climate and their dwellings blend into the surrounding natural world. They have no concept of land ownership; rather, they believe that land belonged to nature itself. Killoren communities are usually governed by a council of druids or wizards. As well as speaking other languages, they communicated via their own, of which few words were known.
Killoren resemble Half-elves and were typically slightly smaller than humans, with 5 1/2 ft their typical height. They have long, thin limbs and usually weigh only 100 pounds. Killoren have green or tan skin that has the texture of a green leaf. A Killoren's hair and eye color change with their mood and the aspect of nature they currently manifested.
Mysterious Origins
Even the Killoren do not know of their origins. They could have been the creation of a deity or have been spontaneously created from the will of Nature itself. Some Killoren devote themselves to scholarly pursuits or deep contemplation in search of their origin while others are content not knowing. Left without society or divine guidance, Killoren forge their own paths and create their own culture as they go.
