Quaggoth

Terrifying predators of the Underdark as ferocious as bears with a cunning nature that makes them even more dangerous. Quaggoth have no fear, only hatred in their heads. They claw their way to the top as they defend their territories and seek to become stronger.

“Deep Bears”

Quaggoths are tall and bulky humanoids with beast-like features. They are 6-7 ft tall and weigh around 250 lbs. They have long, shaggy, white hair covering their entire bodies, and some painted their fur to better camouflage into their Underdark homes. They wear no clothing in general unless it is to distinguish themselves due to their role in the pack. They have long limbs and large pawlike hands and feet.

Battle Beasts

Quaggoth have no fear of creatures. They are warlike and vicious. They fight and fight until they die. They have a deep hatred of Drow especially and “surface dwellers”. Quaggoths jealously defend their territories claiming all life that wanders in as their prey. They rarely use weapons, seeing it as lesser than using their claws and teeth to tear prey apart. They will eat anything edible from those that they kill as a sort of rite to respect their prey and take in their strength.

Enslaved

Fierce competition exists in the Underdark. Most Quaggoths have spent at least part of their lives enslaved. Having Drow or Ithilid slavemasters is common as they are forced to guard or hunt for them. Due to their primitive nature and various setbacks of being enslaved they are primitive. They divide themselves between “beast followers” and “magic followers”. Beast followers hate society and see things like tools and cooking meat as being soft and preylike. Magic followers believe in using all their resources to become better and stronger. They want to “better what nature gave us”. It is rare for a pack to have both beast and magic followers.
