Thri-Kreen
Alien beings of ferocious combat capability that deal without mercy and fight without the concept of anger, Thri-Kreen do all things in order and view the world and all within in terms of predator and prey. They are bipedal mantis-like warriors that are feared for their might and terrifying approach to combat. Their psionic abilities make them more powerful and intelligent than most would think they are with their somewhat primitive way of life.
Unscruitable Insects
Thri-kreen have no clear or definable personalities as humans would know them. No emotions can be discerned from their insectoid faces or their patterns of behavior, though rapid twitching of their antennae or mandibles indicated agitation. Acting spontaneously, they are unpredictable and always of chaotic alignment, showing no inclination toward good or evil. These traits make them utterly alien and inscrutable to other races, and folk unfamiliar with them regarded them as savage and brutal monsters.
In fact, Thri-Kreen simply viewed themselves and other beings in terms of the relationship between predator and prey. They see themselves as noble hunters, and are wholly focused on survival and the basic needs of existence, a life in which the weak die and the strong survive. They are not cruel or evil if they have no need to be, but nor do they go out of their way to aid others if they do not have to. By instinct, they see humanoid beings as food first and as trading partners or allies second.
Their alien thought patterns make it hard for them to understand the advanced concepts or sophisticated social rules of other races. They lack ideas of devotion, honor, or loyalty, but they respect skill and strength and recognize the convenience of working with talented hunting companions. They maintain no traditions, and see no benefit in the traditions of others. They value little that humanoids make.
Mantis Warriors
Thri-Kreen are insectoid humanoids that have mantis-like appearances. A Thri-Kreen resembles a giant praying mantis, biped standing 4.5–7 ft high and weighing 100–375 lbs; a full-grown adult averages at 6 ft and 200 lbs. They have exoskeletons over their entire bodies. They have six limbs protruding from their thorax: two for walking and four for use as arms, ending in four-fingered claw-like hands capable of tool- and weapon-use. Their insectoid heads have two black, multi-faceted compound eyes; two small antennae sprouting from the top; and a complex jaw structure with large sharp mandibles. It is extremely difficult to distinguish the males and females.
The carapace of a thri-kreen was typically a sandy yellow in hue, but could vary from a sandy brown to a pale green color, as best suited the environment. This enabled Thri-Kreen to blend in with the dry savannas and grasslands they dwelled in. Thri-Kreen wear little to no clothing or armor. Instead, they wear only simple leather belts, harnesses, or slings to hold their food, equipment, and weaponry, and only as much as they need. They do not make or wear any kind of adornments.
Psionic Ambushers
Thri-Kreen hunt using their psionic ability to camouflage and then spring into a savage attack. They shred their foes in a whirlwind of bites, slashing claws, and any weapons they have. Their powerful legs allow them to leap around leaving enemies confused as to their next move. When coupled with several allies, Thri-Kreen hunting parties as a terror to deal with. If anyone trespasses or overhunts their land they will swarm them and drive them off. They dislike wasteful creatures that they have to drive off often like orcs. When attacked Thri-Kreen do not consider their own safety but that of the group they are loyal to as a whole as they fight with ferocious might. When they do kill they do not feel mercy or guilt.

Traits
Chameleon Carapace
While you aren’t wearing armor, your carapace gives you a base Armor Class of 13 + your DEX modifier (Minimum 1). As an action, you can change the color of your carapace to match the color and texture of your surroundings, giving you advantage on Stealth checks made to hide in those surroundings.
Secondary Arms
You have two slightly smaller secondary arms below your primary pair of arms. The secondary arms can manipulate an object, open or close a door or container, pick up or set down a Tiny object, or wield a weapon that has the light property.
Powerful Legs
Your legs are immensely powerful, increasing your standing and running jump distances by 10 ft.
Sleepless
You do not require sleep and can choose to remain conscious during a long rest, though you must still refrain from strenuous activity to gain the benefit of the rest. You cannot be put to sleep by any means.
Thri-kreen Telepathy
Without the assistance of magic, you can’t speak the non-thri-kreen languages you know. Instead you use telepathy to convey your thoughts. You have the magical ability to transmit your thoughts mentally to willing creatures within 120 ft of yourself. A contacted creature doesn’t need to share a language with you to understand your thoughts, but it must be able to understand at least one language. Your telepathic link to a creature is broken if you and the creature move more than 120 ft apart, if either of you is Incapacitated, or if either of you mentally breaks the contact (No action required).
Venous Bite
Your mandibles produce enough venom for a dangerous bite once per long rest. You can use your mandibles to make an unarmed attack that deals 1D6 Piercing damage and on a hit you can expend your accumulated venom forcing the target to make a CON saving throw DC 8 + your CON modifier (Minimum 1) + your Proficiency Bonus and on a failed save are Paralyzed until the end of their next turn.
