Yuan-Ti Initiate
4 variants
Snake people who were biologically designed for conquest by the Creator Race the Surraks. They are pragmatic and merciless. They revere reptiles above all other species, especially the snake. They are versatile in form and function as they breed warriors, scientists, and leaders. Yuan-Ti Initiates are as close to a true Yuan-Ti as possible though they lack a resistance to the arcane for unknown reasons. As such they are exiled and used as scouts and adventurers.
Awakening the World Serpent
Every Yuan-Ti believes that there was once an all powerful serpent that created the world and then was imprisoned or slumbering depending on the tribe. Depending on the aspect of the World Serpent they worship, their tribe can vary greatly from acts of cruelty while worshiping Mershualk or Sseth or gathering power to breach the realm of Dendar the Night Serpent.
Varied Form and Function
The Yuan-Ti breed many forms to serve the tribe’s needs. Spies and assassins in the form of the Pure Bloods, warriors and tacticians in the form of Malisons, and the rage filled Broodguard as their base forces. Leading them is the mighty Abomination as priests and rulers and the unholy Anathema to crush all including themselves as well as other variations. Their functions are only rivaled by their innovations and their incredible genius. They are masters in alchemy, science, herbalism, and poison.
Engine of Conquest
Every Yuan-Ti was bred for a specific purpose to serve the tribe. Each form is a part of a rigid caste system where each is subservient to the other. It goes as follows: Anathema, Abomination, Malison, Pureblood, Broodguard, snakes, and other reptiles. The engineering of the species gives them a fear of complacency where every caste desires to play their role. Their genius levels of intellect lend them to a particular way of conquest, the path of subterfuge. A Yuan-Ti rarely resorts to physical force and prefers to scheme and run to scheme again another day.
