Bainligor
1 variants
Bainligor are deceptively large humanoid bats. While they have wings they are flightless but have many features in common with bats. They are independent and proud creatures whose way of life is not often conducive with other races. They live in an odd and mysterious cycle aging in bursts until they become a powerful Undead.
Unnatural Aging and Lifespan
As Bainligor age they undergo a series of magical transformations, growing larger throughout their lives, as well as their teeth and claws becoming magically strengthened with each growth spurt. The Bainligor lifecycle ends when they become compelled in old age by an inner voice to seek out a dry, empty cavern, where they may transform into an undead form of Bainligor referred to as Revered Ones.
Small Batlike Humanoids
Bainligors are hunched to appear smaller than they are and have flightless wings attached to the underside of their arms. They possess huge pointed ears, ridged snouts, and elaborately sculpted facial features that all together give them a resemblance to bats. The average height of a Bainligor ranges from 3‒6 ft with older ones being twice as large.
Difficulty Coexisting
The typical belongings of Bainligor are of little value to other races, including things such as tools made of bone or stone, tanned hides, and small quantities of food. Bainligor take pride in their simple nomadic lifestyles, believing they are capable of surviving anywhere and on anything, whereas other creatures are from their perspective tied down by their cities and material possessions. The cultural differences are magnified when factoring in that the Bainligor are capable of communicating in Undercommon, but their high-pitched voices make it difficult for other races to properly hear them, even if they lowered their voice to be heard.

Traits
Echolocation
You can sense all creatures and objects around you whether visible or not through your echolocation within 60 ft of you. Everything beyond that range is a black haze. Due to this you are immune to sight based illusions as they do not appear to you.
High Pitched Communication
You can communicate with other Bainligor and creatures that can hear your high pitched voice without others even being aware of any communication taking place. This can be used to cast spells with a Verbal component without allowing others to hear the component unless it is necessary for the spell such as speaking a word for the spell Command.
Ultrasonic Burst
You can emit a pulse of piercing sound as an action. The attack emanates out forcing all creatures within 60 ft of you to make a CON saving throw DC 8 + your CON modifier (Minimum 1) + your Proficiency Bonus and on a failed save take 2D6 Thunder damage or half as much on a successful save. You can use this feature once per long or short rest.
Needle Bite
Your teeth are specialized for draining blood but are delicate. You can take an attack action to make a bite attack on a Restrained or otherwise immobile or Incapaciated creature. On a successful hit the creature takes 1D6 Piercing damage + your DEX modifier (Minimum 1) and the creature loses 1D8 hit points from its hit point maximum and you gain that many temporary hit points. You are unable to make another bite attack while you have temporary hit points from this feature.
Magical Aging
You are Immune to magical ages as you are on a magical aging cycle. You age and grow in size as described above in your Size feature. Consult with your DM if you want to start as or be close to becoming a Revered One.
