Dakon
While not as strong or large as gorillas, Dakon are immeasurably smarter and more skilled than their primate cousins. They build impressive cities that they defend with both tactics and great power while trading with many races to become centers of industry.
Proud Lovers of Gold
Dakon are very proud and protective of their culture. They have a strong love for gold and would spare no expense to adorn themselves in jewelry made from the metal. They are wealthy people with their weapons, shields, and armor being exquisitely made with inlays of gold, ivory, and other precious minerals and metals. They will use the best weapons and armor but never use helmets as they deem them as tools of cowards. They deal honorably and generously with most races as long as they are lawful, neutral, or good and take a cautious if not hostile approach to evil races.
Smaller, Smarter Gorillas
These creatures largely resemble gorillas, but have light brown fur and black hands with sharp claws. Their eyes are of a green hue. Males are known to wear anklets, arm bands, bracers, and head pieces. Females prefer to wear earrings, necklaces, and noserings.
Society Deep in the Jungle
Deep in the jungle lie the cities of the Dakon consisting of high palisades, perfectly maintained roads, entire sections dedicated to artisans all while being protected by skilled hunters and layers and layers of traps. The center of each city is a gold mine laden with other precious metals and gems as well that is guarded at all times. Their cities have remarkably low crime rates with policing efforts and lawmaking being fair to all with even the odd hardened criminal being reformed and brought back into society.
