Kalamer Landwalker
2 variants
Kalamer Landwalkers are special and rare Merfolk that can change their lower halves to their signature tail or two legs. They are a playful race that love beauty, especially the natural beauty of the sea and objects that originate from the sea. They love their homes and only leave if they have a good reason.
Playful, But Not Malicious
Known to be playful creatures, Merfolk would often prank adventurers they came across. Their levels of mischief could come across as cruel, but not overly malicious. Unless they have reason to leave their homes they keep to themselves and amuse themselves by exploring the vast ocean or waterways if they live in another body of water. When they do walk on land they tend to keep close to water so they can beat a hasty retreat if necessary.
Rare Merfolk
They are a race of amphibious humanoids at home throughout oceans, rivers, and rain forests. They stand between seven and eight feet tall, with skin that ranges from deep burgundy through many shades of violet and blue, to green, bright orange, and yellow. They are human-like in shape, but have long fins extending from their shoulders, forearms, middle backs, and calves. Frills of fins also protrude from the backs of their heads. Occasionally Kalamer Landwalkers are born, a rare Merfolk that can breathe air or filter oxygen from the water, and can walk on land or swim with equal ease.
Gorgeous Cities
Merfolk love to decorate and appreciate beauty. The bounty of the sea is the most desirable to them or treasures that remind them of the sea. Their homes are nestled in beautiful reefs or on cliffsides that look out to sea or on the body of water they inhabit. They spare no expense in adorning buildings, cultivating gardens, and even inlaying streets with shells and pearls. If a Mermaid is to go on an adventure from home either their home is destroyed, in dire straits, or they were exiled.
