Locathah
While not much to look at, the Locanthah are an upright race that is a true ally to those that deal with them honestly. They dwell in the waters of the world keeping the peace and seeking to coexist with those around them. They have many rules of etiquette that can be strange to outsiders and are somewhat secretive with their beliefs.
Kind, Loyal, and Proper
Locanthah live in tight-knit communities and, if others proved to be their allies, the Locathah would prove firm in their allegiance, trying everything in their power to keep such alliances together as a preventative nature to being dragged back into their recent period of slavery. Despite said history of slavery, even when treated with the utmost cruelty, they do not harbor angry or vengeful feelings towards their former captors, though they would do anything within their power short of threatening harm to their fellows to escape if enslaved by someone else. They do not believe that it is shameful to be enslaved, but it has to do nothing about the situation.
It is easy to unintentionally offend a Locathah as they have many unwritten rules of etiquette. If approached by a creature wielding a weapon, a Locathah would always either flee or engage in combat. They do not like to be touched by other species, interactions with others were always done at a distance.
Stubby Fishmen
All Locathah have fish-like heads with toothless mouths, small fins where ears would normally be, and large eyes that were either all-black or all-white. The latter coloration was viewed as a good omen. Instead of hair, they have a dorsal fin and flukes. Their height is comparable to humans, standing on average 5 ft tall and weighing in at 175 pounds. The fine scales covering their bodies ranged from olive green to ochre in color, although those on their stomachs ranged from sea green to pale yellow. Additionally, Locathah have a stripe near their egg sacs, the coloration of which could distinguish whether they were male or female. For female Locathah, this stripe bears the same coloration as their stomach scales.
Secretive Religion
The Locantha view their salvation from slavery as an act from their god Eadro. They love and worship him exclusively though they do not allow outsiders into their temples and are careful to never reveal their beliefs and rituals concerning religion. They believe that their time in slavery was due to a lack of faith and they live to redeem themselves through true faith.
