Create a Wilden Character

When the corruption of the Far Realm began to seep into the natural world, nature itself answered. The Wilden woke fully formed from the ancient groves of the Feywild — fey guardians grown of bark, vine, and primal spirit, sent to hunt down aberrant horrors wherever they take root. Newcomers to the mortal world, they are curious, wary, and fierce all at once: a race still discovering what it means to be a people rather than a purpose.

Misguided Guardians

The Wilden crossed into the Prime Material plane to defend it, hunting the corrupting influence of the Far Realm that spread after the Spellplague ravaged the land. But centuries of seclusion in the deep forests have left their mark: many Wilden turn feral and animalistic, growing xenophobic, territorial, and covetous of the lands they guard. The most misguided among them forget their purpose entirely and ally with monstrous creatures such as fomorians — becoming the very danger they were born to fight.

Plant-like Fey

A Wilden is a spirit of nature given a walking, thinking body. Bark plates cover their skin, their bones are living hardwood, and vines and flowering tendrils grow where a human would have hair. Within each Wilden dwells a nature spirit, and that spirit shapes its host — a Wilden’s features shift and regrow to reflect the purpose the spirit pursues, so no two Wilden ever look quite the same.

Dangerous and Easy to Manipulate

For all their power, the Wilden know little of how to build civilization, and that innocence makes them dangerous — to outsiders who stumble into their territory, and to themselves. Cunning individuals find Wilden easy to mislead, and more than one tribe has been turned toward evil by a honeyed voice. What the Wilden do understand is strength: they respect power and demand tests of skill from strangers — trials as trivial as a wrestling match or as deadly as slaying a nearby green dragon. Those who pass earn the tribe’s lasting respect and friendship.
