Arcane Mark

You place a personal rune or mark of up to six characters on any object you can touch. The symbols have to fit within a 1 ft square to maintain cohesiveness. The writing can be visible or Invisible, and is magical, so Detect Magic would make it glow, and a Read Magic reveals the meaning, if any. Other means, such as a See Invisibility spell, a Robe of Eyes, a Gem of Seeing, or True Sight also reveal an Invisible mark. The mark does not physically alter or damage the object in any way, even though it seemed to be etched into the surface. The object is permanently marked until the caster dispels their own mark, or Dispel Magic is used on it. If the mark is placed on a living creature, then it normally fades away in about a month.
