Infernal Gladiator

An Infernal Gladiator’s Rage comes from the fiery layer of Avernus. They are one of the predestined to burn bright as a champion in the Blood War. Their hellish Rage channels hellfire itself allowing them to shape it to their will. The lawful evil nature of the Nine Hells seeps into their Rage itself making them meticulous and dangerous even when it seems they’ve lost all sense.

Subclass Features

Lv 3

Hellish Rage

When you Rage you ignite with flames, shedding Bright light for 10 ft and Dim light for 10 ft. When you start your Rage you start your Rage count, your Rage count is equal to the number of turns you have been Raging (Including the initial turn). Creatures within your Bright Light take Fire damage equal to your Rage count at the beginning of each of their turns. Creatures in your Dim Light take half as much Fire damage rounded down (Minimum 1).

Infernal Gear

The Flames of Hell itself are drawn up by your Rage to aid you in battle. Upon choosing this subclass choose one of the following Infernal Gear, it manifests on your person at the start of each Hellish Rage

Infernal Trident: A fiery trident with a brazen handle appears. It is a +1 trident that deals an extra 1D6 Fire damage if thrown.

Infernal Net: A net composed of hellfire appears. It has a DC 12 + your Rage bonus STR saving throw to escape and deals 1D8 Fire damage to the creature at the start of each of its turns while it is Grappled.

Infernal Shield: A brazen shield wreathed in hellfire appears. You can cast the spell Hellish Rebuke at 2nd level without requiring a spell slot or material component once per long rest or short rest.

Infernal Pike: A flame crested burnished pike appears. It is a +1 Pike that has an additional 5 ft reach and if it deals a creature damage from the extra reach they take an additional 1D6 Fire damage.

Lv 6

Burn Bright

You can exert your Rage and channel even more hellfire stoking your Rage count. Once per long rest as a bonus action you can double your Rage count.

Lv 10

Infernal Equipment

Your Rage summons more hellfire for you to shape. When you Rage, you manifest two Infernal Gear of any combination.

Chain Rages

Your Rage is as endless as the flames of Hell itself. At the end of a Rage you can use your reaction and expend a use of Rage to start a new Rage and preserve your Rage count.

Lv 14

Burning Avatar

You can assume the form of a gladiator of pure flame as hellfire consumes you. You can take this form as an action once per Rage. You can maintain it for turns equal to your CON modifier (Minimum 1). In that form your Rage count becomes your Proficiency Bonus unless it is higher in which case your Rage count moves up by three. In this form you are Resistant to non magical damage and are Immune to Fire damage.
