Undying
Die, arise, fight, repeat. That is your unlife. That is your purpose. Trapped in a loop of endless fighting. Undying are denied their final rest through a curse, bloodlust, or stubbornness. They recklessly sacrifice their health to keep the cycle of killing going strong.
Subclass Features
Unnatural Nature
Your body is trapped in a state of limbo. You do not require food, drink, or air. Though you are technically Undead you are unaffected by abilities that specifically target the Undead.
Brutal Undeath
Death has a firm grasp on you. Each time you hit zero hit points you die. You are then revived at one hit point. You lose one point from your CON score permanently and 1D4 hit points from your hit point maximum permanently. These losses cannot be reversed as it is part of your soul you lose. If you hit zero CON or zero maximum hit points you die permanently, your soul is lost and no means can revive it.
Negative Energy Conversion
Once per turn you can offer your life to empower your strikes. When you make a melee attack you can offer hit points up to your Proficiency Bonus to deal D4 Necrotic damage equal to the number of hit points sacrificed.
Redirected Self
Though your soul is being devoured by death you can still use the loss to benefit others areas of yourself. For every two CON points you lose from your Brutal Undeath feature, you gain one in an ability score that is not CON. This cannot raise a score above 20.
Undead Constitution
Your state drifts closer to true undeath. You are immune to Poison, Necrotic, or Psychic damage as well as the Frightened Condition.
Bonus Feats
The experience of repeatedly dying has accelerated your growth. You gain two Feats.
Damage Reduction
Your Undying body reduces incoming damage as its nerves die and its flesh toughens. All incoming damage dealt to you is reduced by 1 (This feature cannot reduce damage to below zero).
Rebound from Death
Repeated death empowers you. When you die you take an extra turn, then resume initiative order. You can use this once per long rest.
Greater Damage Reduction
Your Undying body continues to toughen and strengthen. All incoming damage dealt to you is reduced by 2 (This feature cannot reduce damage to below zero).
Master of Undeath
Once per long rest you can use an action to tap into your past deaths. For each time you have died you gain +1 to hit and damage as your accumulated deaths converge into great power (To a maximum of your Proficiency Bonus). This lasts for one minute.
During this time your Damage Reduction becomes 4 (This feature cannot reduce damage to below zero).
