Eminence in Shadow

There are rumors that this Rogue archetype does not exist. They operate in the shadows, pulling the strings of history and even other Rogues as they see fit. Their powers are more hearsay than fact as none have yet to live to identify a true Eminence in Shadow.

Subclass Features

Lv 3

Shadow Double

At the start of each day you can summon a Shadow Double. While your Shadow Double is active you have the Invisible condition unless your Shadow Double is dismissed as an action, reaches zero hit points, you attack through your real body, you become Incapacitated, or you move more than 120 ft from your Shadow Double.

Your Shadow Double is indistinguishable from you and shares your AC, all ability scores, class features, racial features, and proficiencies. You share senses through your Shadow Double and make attacks from it. Your Shadow Clone shares your action economy. You share one action, one bonus action, and have a shared movement speed pool.

If your Shadow Double’s mind is read it comes as static and your last command. And if identified it appears as an Undead. Your Shadow Double has Resistance to Psychic damage and Immunity to Poison damage and the Poisoned condition. It hits points equal to your Proficiency Bonus + your CHA modifier (Minimum 1) + your Rogue level times two.

Lv 9

Pull the Strings

You can use your bonus action to subtly use excess shadow gathered around your Shadow Double to influence events. You can use the Help Action for willing creatures within 10 ft of your Shadow Double with this feature or impose disadvantage on the next melee attack on your Shadow Double as long as the attacker is within 10 ft of your Shadow Double when you use this feature.

You can use this feature times per long rest equal to your CHA modifier (Minimum 1).

Lv 13

Shadow Reversal

Once per long rest you can use your reaction to magically teleport, switching places between you and your Shadow Double. You can choose to end your Invisibility and have your Shadow Double become Invisible or it appears your Shadow Double vanished. You cannot use this reaction if your Shadow Double was the target of a spell. If your Shadow Double was being attacked you take half the damage and the attacker must make a WIS save DC 8 + your CHA modifier (Minimum 1) + your Proficiency Bonus to determine that there is a creature in front of them. You must make a CON save DC equal to 8 + the damage you took in order to remain Invisible.

Lv 17

Commander of Shadow

You can use your action to make a melee attack using a Shadow Lance that has a reach of 10 ft, uses your CHA modifier (Minimum 1) + your Proficiency Bonus to hit, and deals 1D8 Psychic damage + your CHA modifier (Minimum 1). The Shadow Lance can originate anywhere within 10 ft of your real body or your Shadow Double. The Shadow Lance can be used to triangulate your position if used both from your real body and your Shadow Double through a successful DC 22 Insight check. Attacking with it does not remove your Invisible condition.

When you use this feature you can also use your Pull the Strings feature as part of the action. You can use your Pull the Strings feature this way times per long rest equal to your CHA modifier (Minimum 1).
