Illusion
Illusion Wizards focus their studies on magic that dazzles the senses, befuddles the mind, and tricks even the wisest folk. Their magic is subtle, but the illusions crafted by their keen minds make the impossible seem real. Some illusionists – including many Gnome Wizards – are benign tricksters who use their spells to entertain. Others are more sinister masters of deception, using their illusions to frighten and fool others for their personal gain.
Subclass Features
Illusion Savant
Choose two spells from the School of Illusion, they must be no higher than a spell you can learn normally (2nd level at level 3) and add them to your spellbook for free.
Whenever you gain access to a new level of spell casting you can add one spell of that level and of your School to your spellbook for free.
Improved Illusions
You are adept at illusory magic. You can cast Illusion spells without verbal components and you increase your Illusion spell’s range by 50 ft.
You learn the Minor Illusion cantrip. If you already know this cantrip, you learn a different Wizard cantrip of your choice. The cantrip doesn't count against your number of cantrips known.
When you cast Minor Illusion, you can create both a sound and an image with a single casting of the spell. You can cast this cantrip as a bonus action.
Phantasmal Creatures
You always have the spells Summon Beast and Summon Fey spells prepared and they do not count towards the number of spells you can know. Whenever you cast either spell, you can change the School of Magic of the spell to Illusion, if you do you can cast either spell without expending a spell slot without expending a spell slot once per long rest. A spell cast this way halves the hit points of the summoned creatures.
Illusory Self
You can create an illusory duplicate of yourself as an instant, almost instinctual reaction to danger. When a creature makes an attack roll against you, you can use your reaction to interpose the illusory duplicate between the attacker and yourself. The attack automatically misses you, then the illusion dissipates.
Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest or you can regain the use of this feature by expending a spell slot of 2nd level or higher (No action required).
Illusory Reality
You have learned the secret of weaving shadow magic into your illusions to give them a semi-reality. When you cast an illusion spell of 1st level or higher, you can choose one inanimate, non magical object that is part of the illusion and make that object real. You can do this on your turn as a bonus action while the spell is ongoing. The object remains real for 1 minute. For example, you can create an illusion of a bridge over a chasm and then make it real long enough for your allies to cross.
The object can't deal damage or otherwise directly harm anyone.
