Glass Sculptor

Glass Sculptors create dazzling glass work that reflects and even traps light within it. Their work is half arcane knowledge and half supernatural skill in sculpting geometrically perfect shapes that seem to control light. Even a Glass Sculptor's failed attempts will far outshine even a master of the craft’s work.

Subclass Features

Lv 3

Speciality Spells

Your specialization and training grant you the following spells. You know the following spells and they do not count towards the number of spells you can prepare.

Tool Proficiency

You have trained tirelessly in the art of sculpting glass. You are proficient with Glassblower’s Tools. If you already have this proficiency, you gain proficiency with one other type of Artisan's Tool of your choice.

Refractive Orb

Your skill in glassmaking has granted you a crystalline orb that refracts rainbow hues. The orb can be held in one hand and can be used as a Spellcasting Focus for your Artificer spells. At the end of a long rest, you can create a new orb if you have your Glassblower’s Tools with you. If you already have an orb from this feature, the first one immediately shatters. If you cast an Artificer spell that deals Acid, Cold, Fire, Force, Lightning, Poison, Radiant, or Thunder damage using the orb as a spellcasting focus, you can choose to refract the spell through the orb. Roll a D8 to determine the new damage type and color of the spell. If a creature is hit by a spell attack or fails a saving throw from a spell or effect cast in this way, the creature suffers an additional effect.

Lv 5

Resonating Orb

You improve your orb to heighten your spells. When you roll a D8 to refract an Artificer spell, you add the number rolled to one of the spell's damage rolls. If the spell is a critical hit, you can roll the D8 again and choose one of the D8s to determine the effect.

Lv 9

Glass Masterworks

You hone your craft and create a new masterwork to aid you alongside your orb. You can choose from one of the following options and craft the item.

Clearglass Armor: You create a Breastplate or Half Plate set of armor that is magical. The armor is Invisible in Dim Light as well as further than 10 ft away from you. If you are hit with Radiant, Thunder or Force damage you can use a reaction to half the amount of damage and use the reflective properties of the armor to deal damage of the same type equal to the amount reduced to a target you can see within 5 ft of you.

Frosted Glass Sword: You create a +1 magical sword that is made of colored and frosted glass. The sword has a color from among the options for color with your Refractive Orb and deals an additional 1D8 damage on a hit of the corresponding damage type.

Frosted Glass Figurine of Wondrous Power: You create a magical figurine out of frosted glass. The type of the figurine is determined by which color from amongst the options for color with your Refractive Orb. A Figurine of Wondrous Power is a statuette of a beast small enough to fit in a pocket. If you use an action to speak the command word and throw the figurine to a point on the ground within 60 ft of you, the figurine becomes a living creature. If the space where the creature would appear is occupied by other creatures or objects, or if there isn't enough space for the creature, the figurine doesn't become a creature.

The creature is friendly to you and your companions. It understands your languages and obeys your spoken commands. If you issue no commands, the creature defends itself but takes no other actions. See the Monster Manual for the creature's statistics. The creature exists for a duration specific to each figurine. At the end of the duration, the creature reverts to its figurine form. It reverts to a figurine early if it drops to 0 hit points or if you use an action to speak the command word again while touching it. When the creature becomes a figurine again, its property can't be used again until a certain amount of time has passed, as specified in the figurine's description.

Lv 15

Orb Detonation and Lingering Resonance

You have created the final iteration of your Refractive Orb. You can use an action and throw your orb (Range 20/80 ft) and the orb detonates in a radius of 10 ft dealing 2D6 Radiant damage and 2D6 Thunder damage and causing each creature to be afflicted with all eight effects of the orb. The orb is destroyed in the process.

The orb’s powers linger and resonate with your Glass Masterwork allowing your masterwork to act as a Refractive Orb for the next minute.
