Psychopomp

The Oath of the Psychopomp is a solemn oath to the four beings that ferry the souls of mortals between the outer planes. Those that take this Oath seek those that cheat death and steal or erase souls. The Oath will spring from the mouths of those that have had loved ones taken by a Lich or Fiend or similar being. These Paladins borrow the power of judgment from the Psychopomps.

Ideals: The afterlife is sacred and none should meddle with it, it is the affairs of the gods, not Fiend nor monster.

The dead should remain dead.

Souls must return from whence they came.

Those that defile the law of death must be culled.

Subclass Features

Lv 3

Judgment Sense

You can sense those that are marked for judgment by the four Psychopomps within 60 ft of you. This includes but is not limited to all Fiends and some Undead. Their visage will appear marred by a hazy red mist, marking them.

Pass Judgement

As an action and expending your Channel Divinity you can do one of two effects

Guilty: For one minute you mark one creature you can see within 60 ft. You deal additional Radiant or Necrotic damage (You choose which) to the creature equal to your CHA modifier (Minimum 1) for the duration.

Innocent: For one minute you can use a bonus action to heal a creature within 60 ft of you hit points equal to your CHA modifier (Minimum 1) as long as they have at least one hit point.

Oath Spells

Your Oath and devotion grant you certain spells. You know the following spells and they do not count towards the number of spells you can prepare.

Lv 7

Discernment Aura

You can detect a lie of commission within your Aura of Protection as your Oath draws from the power of the Psychopomps ability to determine a soul’s destination.

Lv 15

Beautiful End

The satisfaction of returning things to their natural state to continue the cycle of life and death gives you strength. When a creature is reduced to zero hit points within your Aura of Protection, you can use your reaction to regain a first level spell slot or regain 1D10 plus your Paladin level hit points as the creature’s hopes and dreams pass on briefly to you and energize you.

Lv 20

Wings of Deliverance

You can use a bonus action to tap further into the wellspring that is your Oath and bond to the Psychopomps. For 10 minutes you gain the following features

You have a Flying speed equal to twice your movement speed as raven wings spring from your back.

You are Immune to Radiant and Necrotic damage.

Whenever you are dealt damage you can use your reaction to reduce the damage by 2D10 plus your CHA modifier (Minimum 1) and inflict Radiant or Necrotic damage (Your choice) to the creature that dealt you the damage equal to the damage reduced.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest or you expend a 5th level spell slot to regain the use of this feature (No action required).
