Painless
Haggard and scarred, these Monk’s haunting visages unnerve even the most dispassionate foes. They forge a path of pain and sorrow to reach a state of painlessness where the trials of the world no longer have meaning and they can be enlightened.
Subclass Features
Numb Existence
The agony of your past can be used to overwhelm physical and mental damage. If you would take damage less than twice your Monk level you can use your reaction to reduce the damage to zero. You can use this feature times per long rest equal to your WIS modifier (Minimum 1).
Dispassionate View
Your mind has become dispassionate and neutral. You have advantage on saving throws against being Charmed or Frightened. Deception, Intimidation, and Persuasion checks are rolled with disadvantage against you.
Haunted Visage
You can allow a fraction of the excruciating pain you have endured to bleed through your gaze. As an action you can cause a creature within 60 ft of you that can see you to make a WIS saving throw DC equal to your Ki save DC and on a failed save they become Frightened, repeating the save at the end of each of their turns. This condition lingers, only ending upon the casting of Lesser Restoration or a similar spell or three successful saving throws, lasting up to 24 hours.
A creature Frightened this way takes the Dash action each turn in a calculated way to avoid your gaze and create distance.
You can use this feature once per long rest or you can expend 2 Ki points to regain a use of this feature.
Trained Body and Mind
Your mind and body have become accustomed to certain pains. Choose any three damage types, you have Resistance to them. You can change your selection during the course of a long rest.
Detached Existence
You begin your final state of detachment. By spending an action and five Ki points you become Resistant to all damage and Immune to two damage types of your choice. You can spend two Ki points per turn to maintain this state. You can extend this feature for turns up to your WIS modifier (Minimum 1). This state ends if you become Incapacitated and can be started by expending the initial amount again.
