Ethereal

Sorcerers that have been touched by the Ethereal. They deal with the ethereal and ephemeral. Communing and seeing the dead are normal to them. They deal with the invisible as often as the visible. Like the Ethereal they have a Border and Deep side to their powers.

Subclass Features

Lv 3

Origin Spells

Your newly discovered origin ensures you always have certain spells prepared. You know the following spells and they do not count towards the number of spells you can prepare.

Border Ethereal Sight

Your eyes are adapted to the ethereal. You can see Invisible creatures and objects to a range of 60 ft.

You can use a bonus action to push your Border Ethereal Sight to a deeper level of the ethereal for one minute. During this time you have Truesight for 10 ft.

You can use this feature once per long rest.

Lv 6

Border Speaker for the Dead

You have a connection to the souls that linger in the Ethereal Plane. You can cast the spell Speak with Dead times per long rest equal to your CHA modifier (Minimum 1), when a creature has been asked five questions they become Immune to this effect.

You can use a bonus action to push your Border Speaker for the Dead to a deeper level of the ethereal for one hour. During this time you can speak with Undead and corpses without a mouth. The Undead, if animated by another force, share their true thoughts and feelings to the best of their abilities.

You can use this feature once per long rest.

Border Ethereal Space

During a long rest you can create an extraplanar bag that mimics a Bag of Holding. The bag lasts for 24 hours and can be renewed for another 24 hours during a long rest. You can only create one of these bags at a time.

You can use a bonus action to push your Border Ethereal Space to a deeper level of the ethereal for one hour. During this time its dimensions are doubled and it contains breathable air for the full hour.

You can use this feature once per long rest.

Lv 14

Border Ethereal Jaunt

You can jump in and out of the Ethereal Plane. You can use a bonus action teleport 60 ft. You can use this feature times per long rest equal to your CHA Modifier (Minimum 1).

You can use an action to push past your Border Ethereal Jaunt to a deeper level of the ethereal for one hour. During this time you can teleport 120 ft, you still can only use the feature for the same amount of times per long rest counting any previous uses of this feature.

You can use this feature once per long rest.

Lv 18

Border Plea for Ethereal Aid

You petition for aid and forces from beyond offer assistance as an action. Roll 1D6 and the corresponding Undead Aid seeks to aid you for 10 minutes or until it is reduced to zero hit points. They act under the control of the DM to aid you and your allies and act after your initiative. If you do not dismiss them after 10 minutes as an action, it will ask for a favor or attack you (At the DM’s discretion). If you agree to their condition they will remain for one hour instead of 10 minutes.

You can push your Border Plea for Ethereal Aid to a deeper level of the ethereal as a bonus action, the Undead Aid remains for 1 hour and 24 hours if you meet its condition. You can only push this feature once per long rest and gain one level of Exhaustion after the summoned Undead Aid is dismissed or is reduced to zero hit points.

You can use this feature once per long rest, you can regain the use of this feature by expending 6 Sorcery Points (No action required). You can only have one Undead Aid summon active at a time the previous Undead Aid is dismissed if you summon a new one.

Undead Aid
